“Project Our Way”

How many of you watch “Project Runway” on TV?  It’s fun to see all of the designers and watch them as they bring their designs to life on the models.  But why do they have to look so weird?  That would scare me away, frankly.  I guess it’s a way of making people remember them!  Those poor little models look like they just plucked them out of their 6th grade class, starved them half to death and tossed them on the runway.  The average woman does not look like they look, so why not design something that women can really wear?  If you are also an older woman, then it is twice as hard to find new clothes!

So let’s face it, some of the newer modern fashions just don’t look good on us!  We are caught somewhere in between looking like an idiot and going to a funeral!  I have noticed that the “new style” is a throwback to the ’60’s and ’70’s.  We wore bell bottom pants, mini skirts and low cut jeans back then, only they looked good on us in the ’60’s!

I think we have to be honest with ourselves and find a happy medium.  Whether you are young or older, there are actually very few people that can look half way good in low cut jeans and knit t-shirts that ride up in the back when you bend over!

So I say wear what looks good on you and what makes you comfortable.  Even if it is slightly out of style, you can dress it up with some modern touches, such as jewelry, scarves, etc.

We may all be Grandmas’, but we don’t have to look like it as long as we do it “our way”!

I know, right? To think that it’s all about fashion.
