The morning after……..

Well I have been busy the past few days, but I think I have finally recovered from the “turkey coma”.  I love cooking the Thanksgiving dinner and watching our family and friends enjoy it!  Every year I try to get organized ahead of time…but this time I have a piece of advice for next year:  You will need a pair of pliers, a hammer, some wire cutters, hedge clippers, and a hacksaw to open up all of the packaging that everything comes in.  You can see what you are trying to get to through the clear plastic, and you begin to get hysterical!  You start crying and laughing at the same time, you start ripping at the package to no avail, and finally throw it all the way across the room!  Come on now, admit it…you’ve done it!

But all in all, the holidays are worth it!  Now Christmas is coming up and it’s time to start decorating.  It is my favorite time of year!  I have scaled down to a smaller tree because the great big one just got to be too much for me.  I love all the lights, the colors, and the different decorating ideas.  Most of all I love how it brings people together to celebrate the true meaning of Christmas.

I would love to hear your comments about the holidays and how you celebrate these family traditions!  In the meantime, I hope you all had a “Happy Thanksgiving” !

Perfect! Slept late, left cozy hotel room in Vicksburg, drove around corner to Cracker Barrel, purchased one handy-dandy to-go Thanksgiving dinner (with pie!), drove back to said hotel, cozied up with said plate…no fuss, no mess! Just got back from a great week!

Highlight of week: finding old iron cooking pot which had just been put out for sale, and it rang my bell! Now have to buy steel brush and stove polish and apply some elbow grease to my new treasure…
